How much is silver per troy ounce, and is it legal to have it in the form of bullion?

I have recently inherited a large sum of silver and find that is not practical to retain for investment purposes. I’m curous to know if it holds more value in the form of bullion, I have no paperwork to coincide with it’s original purchaser, date, or value. Each brick is stamped with the name of the company who created them, a serial #, and the words `99.99% pure siver’. Any info. would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
